Elvira Guerrero joined Home State Bank in 2019 as Trust Administrator in the Trust and Wealth Management department. Her 25+ years-experience as a paralegal in McHenry County and acquired knowledge made her a welcome addition to Home State Bank and earned her a promotion on April 1, 2021 to Assistant Vice President and Assistant Trust Officer.
 
Prior to joining Home State Bank, Elvira managed the day-to-day activities of a small legal firm. Elvira worked closely with the attorney not only as his legal assistant, but in his capacity as Chairman of the Board of a large privately-owned financial institution in McHenry County. In addition, as the personal assistant to the Chairman of the Board, she also helped to administer a small charitable organization created by a bank client in the City of McHenry by reviewing the applications submitted. Today, Elvira continues to help administer a private family foundation in the area.
 
As a legal assistant, Elvira was able to hone her skills in probate/estate matters, including guardianship for minors and disabled persons. Her knowledge in the annual filing requirements such as inventories and annual reports and accounting in the probate matters has been a valuable asset. Elvira’s skill in drafting and editing complex pleadings also enables her to accurately review and interpret trust documents for administration. In addition, her experience in real estate transactions, from drafting a contract through handling the real estate closing enables her to assist with the land trusts held at Home State Bank.
