
Ryan P. Farrell joined Home State Bank’s Board of Directors in 2018, where he contributed to long-term strategy and oversight. He was appointed President in 2024, assuming responsibility for the bank’s day-to-day operations and growth initiatives. On March 19, 2026, Farrell was named Chief Executive Officer.
He attended the University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign for his undergraduate degree, receiving his Bachelor of Science in accountancy in 2000. He later attended Loyola University and received his law degree in 2005.
Professionally, Ryan brings a broad and sophisticated background in legal and financial matters. Prior to joining Home State Bank, N.A., he worked at Ernst & Young LLP in both the audit and tax groups, gaining extensive experience in financial analysis, compliance, and advisory services. He later joined the law firm Zukowski, Rogers, Flood & McArdle in Crystal Lake, where he practiced for more than a decade, including serving as a Partner.
As both a Certified Public Accountant and an attorney, Ryan has advised clients on complex transactions involving contract negotiation and drafting, commercial and residential real estate transactions, business formations, mergers, tax planning, and estate planning. His comprehensive transactional experience spans corporate law, real estate, and strategic planning, allowing him to bring a well-rounded, analytical approach to bank leadership.
