Senior Vice President & Trust Officer
Monica joined Home State Bank Trust & Wealth Management Division in 2017 as Vice President & Trust Officer. She was promoted in 2018 and began managing the division’s operations and staff. In July 2019 Monica received a second promotion to Vice President-Administration & Trust Officer. Most recently, in April 2023, Monica was promoted to Senior Vice President & Trust Officer, a reflection of her outstanding contributions to the department.
Monica serves on the Board of Directors of CASA (court appointed special advocates for children) of McHenry County. Monica proudly volunteers her time making a difference with the following organizations: EYSO Elgin Youth Symphony Orchestras in Elgin; Harper College Advisory Committee Legal Studies Program in Palatine; The Community Foundation of McHenry County; Friends of McHenry County College Foundation; including E2E Education to Empowerment (women’s scholarship program presented by the Friends of McHenry County College Foundation) mentoring.
Monica began her career in the banking industry as a trust administrator in fiduciary services for a large bank in 2013. Prior to her banking career, she earned a B.A. in History from Northern Illinois University. Thereafter she worked for eleven (11) years in the legal profession as a paralegal. Monica was previously employed by an elder law attorney and a large law firm in Indianapolis, Indiana to develop her skills in the estate planning and administration areas. Monica has significant experience in estate, personal trust, and trust administration. She uses her experience and fiduciary knowledge to work together to cultivate relationships and looks for appropriate solutions that add value to the client’s overall plan. Monica’s experience has taught her to be attentive to clients’ needs keeping in mind the overall goal they have for their family legacy.
